So it is pretty obvious that the main moods of Kyler Taeko Ralston are happy and hyper. Since he was born he has been that way. This kid is always smiling even if someone or more then one person around him are in a bad mood or yelling at him for some kind of prank he pulled. He is always finding something to laugh at, whether it is just for fun and at someones expense, something on tv, a really bad joke or a really good joke. Kyler is really good at finding the humor in most situations so when you need a laugh I'm pretty sure he is your man to go to. When he is happy and in a great mood he is always usually really hyper. When he was little he was the perfect example of a kid that you did not want to give sugar too, even now at sixteen you still don't want him to get his hands on sugar, even though he loves candy and its it pretty much every chance he gets. Kyler is pretty much bouncing off the walls from the minute he wakes up in the mornings until he goes to bed late at night. In the beginning both sets of his parents thought that he might have ADHD because well he was showing all the signs, but after being tested twice? he was said to be normal when it came to that. He's just on the hyper, energetic side.

It is also pretty clear that Kyler is a very creative guy with the way he thinks and the way he puts himself together. He is also pretty obsessed with drawing, taking pictures, singing, dancing and putting together a style for himself and his friends? that is definitely where the kid shines the most. Since he was around maybe eight years old and he was adopted by his moms best friend he has been into photography. After seeing all the neat photos in his new house he knew that it was something he really wanted to do. Since then he had devoted himself into learning about camera's how to take pictures and how to edit them. Throughout the years he had become quite the artist in that department. Along with photography and thanks to his good friend Jae Chen, Kyler has also taken up singing and dancing. Of course Jae is better then him at dancing because he had been doing it longer but they both excel in singing, Kyler being a better rapper and 'in your face' singer. Kyler is also creative with his style. He has pulled together a look that is a mix of gangster, skater and punk, mostly involving the tight but baggy skinny jeans, graphic and bright coloured hoodies and tees and of course the Nike sneakers and flat brimmed hats. As for drawing? since he started to learn how to read Kyler has been a freak about comic books, and after collecting and reading them for so long he has decided to try his luck at drawing, and he is actually pretty good.. maybe not the best artist out there but he can still draw.

mad/sad
It is very rare for Kyler to be either mad or sad because his mood and personality is generally happy and hyper. The thing is that when he gets mad or sad it is not something you would want to be around to see, watch, or experience in anyway at all. The thing that is to make him sad or mad the easiest would probably be his past. It is rare for him to think about what happened to him before the age of eight, but when somebody brings it up it completely shuts him down. When Kyler is angry... at anything he tends to get really loud, freak out and well just over react with anything that comes at him. He will take his anger out on anyone, yelling at them, throwing things or just plain screaming his face off to get all the anger out and when this is happening there is no stopping him. The same goes for when he is sad... Well he won't flip out and yell and throw things but he still has a tendency to over react about whatever is the problem or whatever is making him feel like that. When he is sad and over reacting he does let the tears fall, he's not afraid to cry in front of people he is close too.


loving/caring
Don't let his hyper crazy side fool you because this kid definitely has a loving and caring side. He will do absolutely anything and everything for his friends especially if they are in trouble. Kyler gets very protective over his family and his friends when they are in trouble or threatened in anyway and he is always there for them when they need him. Whether they have had a bad day and just need to get their frustrations out he will be there to listen and help, or if they are crying he will be there to give them hugs and comfort them and this goes double for his friends who are girls because well he has a soft spot for crying girls. I guess what I'm trying to say in a way is that even though he is crazy and insane most of the time Kyler Ralston would never ever hurt anything... not even a fly. Well not on purpose that is.

One thing that Kyler doesn't want anybody to know about him is that he is actually really smart and enjoys going to school and doing well in school. Even when he lived in the ghetto with his mom and dad he would bring home A's and A+'s in school and back then he actually expressed his intelligence to the people around him. Once he was adopted by Carlos and John and he got a new brother Xavier who are all very smart and into studying (especially John and Xavier) Kyler could be comfortable and happy with himself that he was really smart, and the fact that he was with other people like himself he could express himself more. The thing is as he got older, more hyper and crazier he started to hide his intelligence from his friends, not talking about his grades on his report cards or mentioning to his friends that he enjoyed doing chemistry labs and studying. It just wasn't who he felt like he was and was happier only discussing this with his family. Plus he didn't want people labeling him as a nerd or anything like that.

mature/immature
The last part of Kyler's personality that should be discussed is a little tricky to understand because well with most people, they are either labeled as either mature or immature and even though you would think that Kyler would be called 'very immature' he is actually a fair share of both. Of course his immature side shows a little more than his mature side since Kyler just loves to act stupid, laugh at something or someone being stupid or finding certain words hilarious. He also likes to act like a little kid, for instance complaining, pretending to cry, throwing random fits about completely nothing and making people do things for him. Just because of these things doesn't mean he doesn't know how to act mature or when to be mature. In fact when he is faced with something very important he knows what is expected of him and he will behave himself and obey the people in charge. In a way Kyler has had to grow up extremely fast and learn life lessons that he shouldn't even know about yet. So don't let his crazy immature side fool you.

October 24 in the year 1993 was not really the best time for Li Mai Hyun and her boyfriend Tae Hyun. The two of them weren't sitting in a good spot right now, not financially, emotionally physically or mentally. Just so you get the picture. Li and Tae met in high school, at first they didn't like each other because they were so different, Li Mai being a honors student and Tae well lets just say his grades and attitude were less than average. The two bumped into each other in the halls one day and from that day on they have just been well. Together. The thing was Tae turned out to be a very bad influence on Li Mai, she dropped out of her sophomore year of university for him and they ended up living in a bad part of New York in the worst apartment you can imagine. Both of them were doing drugs, not just weed but cocaine as well.l A year after that when Li Mai and Tae were both 21 years old Li Mai ended up getting pregnant, there was nothing she could do, they didn't believe in abortion, and since she dropped out of college her parents haven't talked to her. So the two decided that they were going to have this baby Li Mai quit doing drugs because she knew the affects it had on babies it was hard to do at first and to tell the truth she was afraid she wouldn't make it but in the end she did. She began acting like her old self even getting in contact with old friends from school, keeping them updated on her pregnancy and how her life was doing. Tae however didn't quit and he even started to sell drugs in order to provide for his family. They managed to get all the things they needed, a crib, highchair, clothes, bottles, it turns out selling massive amounts of weed and cocaine gave a guy a pretty good prophet.

Soon the day came it was about eight o'clock in the evening, it was cold out and the weather was calling for light snow later on that night. Li Mai and Tae had just finished eating dinner and Tae was about to go do some business. This was when Li's water broke and they had to get one of their good friends to drive them to the hospital. Once they got there, they didn't know what to do, the emergency room was full of people with gun wounds, illnesses and a few other pregnant women. Well turns out Li didn't have to wait to long because he was about to go into labor and deliver the baby right there in the waiting room. She was emitted right away and five long hours later Tae and Li Mai welcomed a baby boy into the world. He was full term and completely healthy but he was small, only weighing five pounds. Even though he was so small his lungs were good and he was eating just fine. The three of them were allowed to go home three days later.

FIRST YEARS
The first year of Kyler's life went by pretty fast and smoothly if you take away the poverty, the area the family lived in and the drugs and danger. Tae was still selling and doing drugs, of course he got an actual job working in a garage so he could provide more for his son and be a better influence on him. Even though he didn't want Kyler around drugs at all Tae was so addicted that he couldn't give them up so instead of smoking them in the apartment and dealing with them in the apartment he found different places to do it. Kyler was now the pride and joy of his life, Tae would to anything and everything for his baby boy and he would go to any sort of length to do it. After he was finished working for the day and finished selling he would come home and just sit and hold his baby, feeding him occasionally and just talking to him, telling him about his family and his heritage. Even though Kyler was only a few months old Tae still liked doing this sort of thing.

As a baby Kyler was pretty loud, he didn't really cry a lot, pretty much like a normal baby, but when he did cry it was the loudest screams Li and Tae had ever heard coming out of a baby. As he got older the cries became less frequent but he became loud in other ways, like trying to talk he was also in a pretty good mood all the time as well. Never fussing and always just happy. He was also very active learning to crawl and walk early on in life, he gave terrible twos a new meaning. Kyler was in to absolutely everything. Tae had to literally lock up all the cupboards and other things like that and Li Mai couldn't take her eyes off of him for a second because he would just be getting into trouble some other way.

SUMMER, 1998
By the age of five Kyler was still as active as ever. Actually the boy was so active and hyper all the time that Li Mai even took him to the doctors to see if her son had ADD or ADHD. Turns out that Kyler doesn't have either of them, and that was just his personality. Now Kyler was just starting kindergarten and his parents were hoping that going to school for half a day would help him concentrate more and let him release some energy so he wasn't so rowdy at home. Because of the time he spent with his dad as a baby and up until now, Tae and Kyler were really close. Tae would take Kyler with him in the mornings and drop him off at school. He would also come pick him up at lunch time, he would take him to do drug runs but he would always make him wait in the car so he wouldn't see anything. Li Mai didn't like this at all but she knew her son loved spending time with his dad and it was hard enough during the evenings because there was so much to do; Kyler's homework, dinner, bath time and bed time so she let her son spend this time with his dad.

There was one drug run that Kyler didn't participate in and this was the one that turned his life upside down and completely destroyed everything. It was the middle of summer, a heat wave, and school was out. It was around eight in the evening and Kyler was watching television with his mother eating a big bowl of ice cream. His dad was downstairs in the alley in between the apartments right under the living room window this was where he would usual sell his drugs and everyone in the neighborhood knew that., the window was open to let the breeze in. All of the sudden Li Mai and Kyler heard yelling and fighting coming from the alley both of them knew it was Tae by his voice, but the other men's voices were different, ones they had never heard before and Li Mai knew that these guys were not her boyfriends usual buyers. Li Mai told her son to stay inside, she quickly ran downstairs but before she got to the alley there were two gunshots and the screech of car tires. Kyler heard the loud shots and went to the window, standing up on his tippy toes and looking out he saw his father lying there bleeding from two spots and a minute later his mother was by his side, holding his dead body in her arms screaming.

SPRING, 1999
After his fathers death Kyler's life took a massive turn for the worst. His mother had a huge emotional break down and started doing drugs again, not just weed and coke but stronger drugs, crystal meth and heroine. She was doing drugs so much that during the daytime she was pretty much useless so high that she couldn't even take care of herself. She would get up in the mornings, feed Kyler breakfast and then he would walk to school all by himself while she stayed home, depressed and did her drugs. The neighbors noticed something was wrong, so they would sometimes help Kyler, walk home with him from school, make him dinner and made sure he was safe in his apartment and in bed at night while his mother slept off her high. In the same year later in the fall Kyler's mother found herself a new boyfriend. He was into the same drugs as she was and well she was pretty much going out with him just to smoke his drugs and take his money. The man moved into their apartment, totally taking over, the guy didn't like kids at all and pretty much treated Kyler like he was nothing, He soon became abusive, beating Li Mai when she didn't do what he wanted her too. He had even hit Kyler a few times for acting out, being to loud and not listening when they told him to do things.

WINTER, 1999
Winter the year nineteen ninety Kyler's life took yet another turn for the worst. He was six years old and the kid was pretty much taking care of himself, with some help of his neighbors. His mother had hit complete rock bottom, with her drugged up abusive boyfriend living with them, she was drugged up herself most of the time and didn't really know what she was doing. The only time she wasn't on drugs and high was in the mornings when she woke Kyler up, got him fed and reading for school. Even then she was so tired and 'hung over' that she was no help. Kyler was living the life no child in the world should ever live. Seeing his mother high all the time, seeing her get beat up, being hit himself and the two worst things. He was missing his daddy and the love he used to get from his mother. Every once in awhile Li Mai would break down, realize that she was hurting her son and stay sober for a few days, telling him she was sorry for what she was doing, and giving him those hugs and kisses that he was missing., but then pay day would come around and she and that asshole would be high again and Kyler was once again getting hit for being to rowdy and noisy. One day though, Kyler just got home from school, the apartment seemed to be empty, but it was different. The furniture was messed up, kitchen cupboards wide open food and money missing. This was definitely not normal and Kyler was scared. He walked into the washroom, having to use it only to find his mother laying on the floor, a needle on the ground beside her. She was cold and Kyler didn't know what to do. He let out the loudest scream of his life. Everything was a blur after that and Kyler found himself in the custody of Child and family services. He was told that his mother had died in an accident and that she loved him very much. Kyler didn't know what to make of this, he knew he loved his mother and missed her a lot but he was only six years old. For the next few weeks Kyler spent his time in foster care before he was adopted and moved to New Hampshire. He was adopted by one of his mothers old friends from school. Carlos Ralston, he moved to America from Germany just to adopt him. It took a long time but soon Kyler really warmed up to the man and began to act like his old self. Happy, hyper and full of life and energy. One year later after the two of them were comfortable and settled in with each other the rest of Carlos's family moved to America, a man named John and his son Xavier moved in with them. John was Carlos's husband and it didn't take long for John to accept Kyler as his new son.


THE BEGINNING, 2004
Four years later years later, it was the new year Kyler was turning eleven in the fall and things seemed to be going great. He was with his new family. Papa Carlos and Papa John, Papa C and J for short. He loved them very much, just like they were his actual biological parents. Even though that would be impossible since Carlos and John were two gay males. They were a tight knit/close family. Even though it took some time even Kyler and his new big brother Xavier were getting along now. Xavier was now the person that Kyler looked up to the most and tried to follow everything that he did. Xavier was the smartest kid Kyler knew and since all three of them, Carlos John and Xavier were all smart they had some how passed it down to Kyler, making him a good studier and worker in school, even though Kyler's wild side did show itself more then the smart side did, it was still there. His life was different, really different compared to his old life, he didn't live in a bad run down neighborhood in a run down apartment, there were absolutely no drugs or crime around in his new clean, safe neighborhood in their large, warm and loving house. Kyler took to this change very easily and soon the past was the past and he was just trying to forget it and continue to be his happy, hyper self.

Kyler is sixteen years old, and as hyper and happy as ever. He and his family are still living happily, the memories from his past are almost completely out of his mind, only the happy ones remain. However sometimes Kyler has nightmares about those times, pretty bad ones I might add but he tries not to let them bug him. He loves comic books and cartoons and spends most of his time running around and acting like a four year old, playing soccer, drawing and taking pictures.
