carefree, silly, and fun have always been the words to describe allen gideon weiss. they were not just traits of allen's personality but how he chose to live his life. he took every single opportunity to be spontaneous, never shot down the opportunity to go clubbing, and would take on every single triple dog dare he was challenged. this life style causes twenty year old allen to not be very settled to any one woman, job, to friend, and tends to make him a procrastinator and a person with his priorities quite out of order. on numerous occasions, employers, friends, and family have become frustrated due to allen's lack of initiative. but this easy-going twenty-year old is no dummy, he just would rather live his life moment by moment rather than wasting time worrying about money, responsibilities, and his future. he is intelligent in all of his thinking and his logic between his lifestyle is that he'd rather waste away his life making himself and friends happy then wasting his life trying to impress others.
DOWNS
though allen is normally on a mood so happy, so carefree, it can often be a facade. it is often quite common for him to crash into a level of depression so low he won't get out of bed. this depression has no true rhyme or reason to it and is just a naturally occurring instance. at the age of fourteen, allen found out he had seasonal depression that came on with no notice. he began to take medication for this problem and been on it ever since, but this medicine only helps so much. there still are days that young allen find himself in able to get up and out of his bed. this depression usually is something that only inflicts allen but if others are around and irritating him, his depression will turn from depression to anger. it is best to leave allen alone in these states of sadness and emotion. HISTORY:
as part of one of the largest jewish families in the south hamptons, allen always founded himself surrounded by love, family, and an audience of people to amuse. he became known as "allen, the little comedian" to his family and was never afraid to do anything to stand out. at family reunions and holidays, it was not uncommon to see allen with a soup pot on his head doing some sort of prop humor. his cousins and sister were his willing guinea pigs of his jokes before he joined them in the south hampton school system at the age of five. school wasn't as bad as allen imagined it to be, screaming and hollaring trying not to go on his first day. it was apparent after time that allen loved school. by the second and third grade, allen would always be up and ready about to rush to school. his sister and he were always together during their childhood and were often mistaken for twins. hayden was only a year young and acted as if she was a year older than him. as they grew older, this close relationship of theirs would grow farther apart but the two would always be in every single childhood memory of one anothers.
TEENAGER
the teenage years were not the best to allen. unlike what people would think, he often was outcasted and tortured when he made his jokes to others. the jocks and other guys within his school didn't find his jokes funny and often took their opportunity to torture him because of them. for freshman and sophomore year, swirlies, wedgies, and stuffing him in a locker were normal occurances against allen. this is when allen's depression began but later, through therapy and medication, he found out that his depression was a natural occurance and not just situational. to get over the depression, allen stuck his nose into the books and into playing the bass guitar. these two action got allen out of his depression with the aid of medication and family support and soon enough allen was within the top three percent of his class. he was on his way to great things and potentially even being validictorian. his family was extremely proud of him but in particular hoped he would go on to great things. allen's father in particular yearned that his only son would follow into his footsteps, get married to a nice jewish girl, and go to med school. this was the plan that allen followed until his senior year of high school when he began to realize that he was just as happy slacking off and doing things that he got simple enjoyment out of, like watching children's films everyday. he theorized he would be more happy getting satisfaction from the small things in life than spending his entire life attempting to make his father happy.
in his senior year, allen lost his virginity, got drunk for the first time, and began to smoke a little weed here and there. his popularity went from loser to liason between the nerds and popular kids. he began to live for the thrills in life and do things daring. allen began to flirt with and woo the girls he had only ever dreamed about before. his life was changing, he was happy. his parents, once they found out he was not going to be validictorian or salutorian like he planned, were not. they told him once graduation was over that if he wasn't going to go to college that he was going to have to move out and support him out. they weren't going to support his frivilous lifestyle.
ADULTHOOD
moving out and being immediately on his own was difficult. allen used the money he had saved up for college for his first year of rent while trying to figure out what he was going to do for easy money. at first, he was a roadie for local bands and shows all around. this seemed like a great idea for a steady job unil one night allen got black-out drunk and beat the shit of a band's lead singer. the company that paid him as a roadie fired him and he was shit out of luck. allen watched the movie the nanny starring scarlett johansson and knew what he should do for a job. children had always been something allen had luck with. he was responsible enough to take care of kids, had the compassion, intelligence, and was extremely willing to work as hard as he could to be a nanny. he began to go to nanny agencies and took a cpr class to get ready for the job. the first nanny agency he went to laughed him out of the building. they didn't believe that a twenty year old male nanny would actually work. the next place was more willing to accept him and would take anyone up for the job. allen was ecstatic when he got his first job at the age of twenty as the nanny for sondra abignail-gray.
