Let us so live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry. - Mark TwainThe summer of 1976, with its long days hot enough to melt the tar on the roads and nights allfilled with lightning bugs, is coming to a close. The thunderheads are finally rolling in and, with it, the stud ents of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are headed ba ck for another year at the castle. The Ladybird summer is over now and everything is standing on a delicate precipice. The IRA and Ulster talks keep Ireland in chaos, the Prime Minister has resigned, and Muggle Britain is closer to a military coup than most would like to admit. However, the Muggles' problems are the farthest thing on most wizards' minds, especially with the unescap able reality that war is here. Lord Voldemort is attacking the Wizarding community with a force unheard of since Grindelwald's time, and in response, the Order of Phoenix is rising up to halt the dark force sweeping across Britain. With the growing chaos becoming more than a just distant thought, the Maruaders are entering their sixth year at Hogwarts. The world outside may be starting to crumble but one thing is certain, there is still a voice to whisper I SOLEMNLY SWEAR that I am up to no good. [home] [plot] [canon list] [rules] [advertise]
