PERSONALITY:
Witty
This girl has got a sharp tongue. Traveling as a child exposed her to lots of languages but her favorita has got to be one she learned in the good ole' U.S of A. and it's a little thing called sarcasm. Sometimes people can get tired of her joking and teasing but she is just kidding around most of the time and doesn't mean harm. She loves a good round of banter with anyone who can keep up.
Loving
Family means a lot to Chessa. Her mother and father were her bestfriends when she was a child and she remains close to them despite having distanced her self a while they lived in San Bernadino. Her kids brother Zane is her little buddy and she likes to take him around when she has free time. Friends also mean a lot to her. Over the years she learned to not be so trusting but she can say she genuinely believes in the good in people, even if the good is buried under habits of being cruel. She helps and listens to her friends as much as possible.
Creative
Painting, drawing, writing. She's always looking for new outlets. Her favorite ways to express herself are through personal image and painting. She likes to change her look based on her mood and make home made accessories. Her mom taught her to sew and how to make close as a kid and she sometimes puts together shirts and jackets or adds details to things in her closet. She doesn't show many people her paintings because it is pretty special between her and her dad.
Bold
She is not afraid to be herself or tell you what she thinks about things. She isn't one to hold back her opinions to spare someone's feelings. She won't knock your beliefs, in fact she likes hearing different opinions and having friendly debates. She doesn't half-ass anything, she goes all out.
Adventurous
Curiosity may have killed the cat but it keeps Chessa thriving. She loves to learn new things and even though she strongly stands by her beliefs she enjoys learning about new cultures and religions and views. she is always up for a good time. Relaxing can be great and she enjoys simple things but some days you just have to get up and get out into the world and do something crazy.
Rebel
She doesn't rebel against her parents much since she sobered up but she is a rebel to society. She isn't good with following orders or adults she doesn't know well and this tends to get her in trouble. Age is just a number and she doesn't see how age gives people the right to boss around younger people. She doesn't go out of her way to break rules but she does as she pleases.

HISTORY:
On October 30th, 1991 Chelsea Athena Goldstein was born to James and Anya Goldstein. She was her parents precious little gift with a perfect little nose and perfect little toes. It was her grandfather on her mother's side who started calling her Chessa when she was just a few months old and the nickname stuck. The family resided in Newport, California but she spent a lot of time traveling as a child. Her father was a painted who liked to visit new places for inspiration. Her mother was a bit of a designer, never famous or anything but she liked to make outfits to fit all of the different cultures she was exposed to while traveling with her husband. By the time Chessa was ten she had been all across the world. It wasn't until her father got sick that the travel stopped. James started to feel weak and Anya noticed his swollen glands. The doctor's told him he had Hodgkin's Lymphoma, cancer. It was a tough hit to the family but there was a high survival rate so they stayed hopeful. For two years the family stayed in Newport, getting James the best care and treatments they could afford thanks to the large amounts of money James made off of his artwork. James was finally back on his feet and ready to travel more. Anya gave birth to thier son Zane in 2004 and the family was happy as ever. The joy was short lived though when the Hodgkin's forced James to return to California.
The family moved to San Bernadino so James could stay in a full time care hospital. It was hard for Chessa to see her father ill, she was very close to him. She had been home schooled her entire life so her parents were her good friends. After a year in San Bernadino, when she was 13, Chessa discovered the rave scene. The music and lights and crazy outfits reeled her in. At first it was simple, then as she gt older she started to try the drugs they offered. By 15 smoked, drank, thizzed and fried. She came home one night at five in the morning still fried out on 3 acid tabs and her mother found her in the kitchen. Her mother had been so absorbed in raising Zane and taking care of James she had let her little Chessa get off track. They talked for two hours and the discussion changed Chessa's life. She quit drugs and smoking cold turkey and stopped most of the drinking. She discovered her true self.
A few months later the new year came, 2009 was here. Chessa was ready to make good with this year and apparently so was her father because he was back on his feet in time for Valentines day. James was desperate for a change of scenery and to get back to his art. He decided to move his family to the south Hamptons and that there he could hire staff to care for him and still be able to find beauty around him and raise his family somewhere nice.

A room is really just 4 simple walls but in some cases a room can be a persons sanctuary. Close the door and you aren't kept in but the world is kept out. When you are alone in your room you are free to be 110% yourself, who ever the hell that is. Chessa's room was big with high ceilings and a sliding glass door hidden behind blue drapes that revealed a small balcony with a metal chair and table patio set. The high walls were pale blue and stretched from the wood flooring up to the ceiling that was covered with glow-in-the-dark stars. Her room had a work space where she paint and draw and do whatever she pleased and above that they built a little loft just for her bed. The ladder up to her bed was covered with stickers she had found from when she was little or picked off fruit and band-aids with cool little designs and at the top you reached a small space, just big enough for a queen size bed. The space was old a few feet tall and Chessa had to crawl in, the floor was softer then most beds and the blankets were cheetah. She had a bunch of different pillows tossed in there. There wasn't anything but a bed, no carpet or nightstand or lamp. She got light through the small mindown she had that overlooked her backyard and the row off blue colored christmas lights that lined the short walls. This was Chessa's getaway.
Chessa laid up in her loft bed, tuning out the world with her Skullcandy headphones over her ears and singing a song off the Plastic Beach cd just for her. Her musical tastes varied depending on her mood but right now she just wanted to close her eyes, let herself drift away and relax. Her toes wiggled to the beat inside her mismatched socks and all was peaceful. A clammy little hand reached out and touched her Chessa's arm. She jumped a little out of reflex and opened her eyes to her little brother's face. He pulled his arm back to hold onto the ladder better and she pulled off her headphones. "Morning, Snotface." She said with a little smirk. She'd been calling him Snotface ever since they watched DropDeadFred together when he was even littler then he was now. He smiled and revealed his missing teeth. "Breakfast is ready." He told her. She nodded and paused the song on her iPod. "Be down in a second." She nodded as he made his way back down the ladder. She heard the door close as she wrapped the headphones cord around the scratched up iPod and set it beside her pillow. She climbed down her ladder and jumped down, skipping the last few steps as always. She made her way to her bathroom and greeted the raccoon eyed reflexion in her mirror. She fingered combed her locks then tied them up in a sloppy bun, the dark tangles contrasting against the cotton candy colors she'd added just before christmas. She bobby-pinned her bangs back to wash yesterdays make up off her face then let them rest over her forehead again. She slipped on some Minnie Mouse slippers and headed downstairs.
A dark figure with floppy ears came from her parents room down the hall and greeted her by the stairs with a deep bark. She patted the dogs head good morning and she followed Chessa down stairs to the kitchen. The dog walked beside her while she ruffled Zane's hair then kissed the top of her father's head and took her seat. "G'morning." James nodded to his daughter. His eyes wrinkled at the corners when he smiled. She returned the grin and tried to ignore how pale he looked today. Anya brough the plates for her husband and son then brough hers and Chessa's to the table, exchanging a quick good morning as she took her seat at the table. Chessa took a bite of bacon and eyed her father while she chewed. His sandy hair was gone because of the chemo. He looked pale and fragile as always. The only time he didn't look at least a bit sick was when he smiled. The crinkles at his eyes and true joy in his eyes were an instant remedy. He hadn't gone into remission for 7 months but things were looking up now that he started new treatments. Chessa stopped worrying herself and enjoyed the rest of her breakfast, tapping her foot under the table to the song she had been listening to earlier. tap tap tap.......
