A small town with a lot going for it, it has some nice little stores,
a great community feel, as well as the not so appealing high
teenage pregnancy rates. That's when the town board came together
about forty years ago and decided to add to the current school,
Worthington Academy, to help these young parents. Up until 1992
drew in pregnancy rates in the town dropped steadily, then rates
saw a huge leap with nobody sure why exactly, all that was known
was that teenage pregnancy rates in the town were far higher than
the national average.
September 2009 marked a change however, Worthington academy
upgraded again by adding a college system for the young parents
who may not have the money to enroll in another college. Dorms were
also introduced to help those who cannot live with their parents any
longer or were kicked out of their own homes.
Welcome to Mount Pleasant and Worthington Academy where all its
residents live, work, study and encounter drama along the way.
